What inspired you to become a physician and to select Emergency Medicine?

It was the opportunity to become a productive member of society in a profession where I was helping people in a field that required continuous study.  I chose Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care Medicine because it is a specialty requiring a broad base of knowledge of other medical specialties, constant monitoring of current diseases and new treatments, and as a result, it satisfies my goals personally and professionally.  

What about emergency medicine is the most rewarding to you?

Seeing a person with a problem that although it doesn't appear serious to him or her, is indeed a life threatening situation and being able to get them the medical assistance they need to avoid that threat and allow them to continue a productive life. I am always amazed at how appreciative patients are for the help they receive at the Urgent Care Center.

What do you do when not helping care for others?

When not working, I enjoy boating, reading, and just relaxing!
